Setting the focus on the development of popular music culture in times of ubiquitous media and advertising, the thesis is the logical consquence of Andreas’ previous musicological works. Prof. Dr. Peter Wicke (Humboldt University) being the doctoral supervisor for the dissertation about the interrelation of popular music/culture and audio branding, the thesis digs a little deeper in musical, sociological, cultural, perceptional, psychological and commercial structures and processes. The effects of object-related use of musical content and its functionalization in medial context on both the perception and the musical cultures of today being the main object of study.
